Some families just make your heart smile. You see them walk toward you in the soft early light of sunrise — arms linked, kids already laughing, hugs all around — and you know: this is going to be special.
This family has trusted me with their memories not just once, but many times over the years. I’ve photographed their growing children, their extended family, and those quiet, joy-filled in-between moments that often go unnoticed. Each session feels like a reunion, and each time they bring all the love.
Sunrise is their thing. There’s a gentle magic to those early hours — when the beach is calm, the colours are soft, and the world feels still. It suits them perfectly. And every time we meet, they arrive with open hearts, ready to simply be together, and let me do the rest.
“Amazing photos! Thank you for your consummate professionalism and wonderful work. You always seem to get such great photos from our children and you make the experience so enjoyable for all the family.”
Noosa’s Family Photographer ~ Rebecca Colefax
As a Noosa family photographer, I don’t take words like that lightly. I know how important it is to feel relaxed during a session — especially when little ones are involved. There’s nothing posed or forced about these sessions. My job is to guide gently, observe carefully, and capture what’s already there: love, connection, and real joy.
The children? They’ve grown more comfortable with me over time, which only adds to the magic. They know that our time together isn’t about being perfect — it’s about playing in the sand, chasing the light, and simply being themselves.
And the parents? They’ve come to trust that I’ll not only capture the “Christmas card photo” — but the deeper, quieter, more meaningful ones too. The ones that make you pause. The ones that feel like home.
These are the kind of clients who remind me why I do what I do. And why I’ll never take for granted the role I play in telling a family’s story.
If you’ve been dreaming of a family shoot that feels relaxed, real, and full of heart — especially in Noosa’s golden early light — I’d love to help you create something beautiful. Whether it’s your first session or the fifth, I’m here for the long run.
