Over centuries people have gathered to tell stories. These gatherings have become central to the shaping of cultures and communities. In more recent times the art of photography has also become an important element of story telling, conveying emotion, mood, narrative, ideas and messages.
This personal project and unique body of work is a mixture of both and was co-produced with my dear friend and soul sister Samantha Martin @bush_tukka_woman. It represents our true spirit of collaboration, a rejoicing of sisterhood and shared love of country. A year in the making, we are thrilled to share our vision with you.
A message from Samantha; I’ve been extremely honoured to be working with some of the most amazingly talented women in this country, working on projects that represent the unity and collaboration of black and white coming together in TREATY to share the stories of land, water, culture, spirits, grandmother, mother, sister, daughter. Sharing and honouring each other and showing the flow of cultural diversity at its best.
This is a project I’ve been very excited to showcase which will be launched in the Sunshine Coast for this NAIDOC and past NAIDOC. I would love to introduce you to meet a beautiful soul sister Rebecca Colefax of Rebecca Colefax Photography. Her work is extraordinary, her vision is unique, working together was an absolute pleasure. Welcome to Country! Let’s share the VOICE ~ TREATY and the TRUTH.
