I customise times and locations to get the best results for you!

Session Times

As the session date approaches, I will dedicate time to researching tides, cloud coverage, wind direction, wind speed, rain, tourist, and traffic activity to provide a professional recommendation for the best time and location options. Before your shoot, I will contact you to discuss and finalise all the details.

My photo shoots are typically scheduled on weekdays (Monday to Friday). However, I am highly adaptable and willing to accommodate your preferences to the best of my ability. To assist you in planning your schedule, the following times are provided as a reference for potential start and finish times.

Sunset times

Sunset is often the preferred time for sessions due to its magical lighting, which can range from vibrant hues to cooler tones, especially beautiful with cloud cover.

To ensure we capture the best lighting, I’ll plan the start time based on your chosen package duration and the scheduled sunset time (easily found with a quick Google search).

If cloud cover exceeds 70%, we might need to adjust the start time earlier to ensure we have enough natural light. While I aim to keep schedule changes to a minimum, I appreciate your flexibility if adjustments are needed.

We’ll typically meet at a designated car park, find a shaded area while the sun is still high, and then head to our chosen spot to make the most of the sunset.

Please note: Noosa is a popular tourist destination, so we may encounter beach crowds. Rest assured that I will skillfully edit out any distractions from your photos.

Sunrise times

Sunrise consistently produces stunning pastel tones, making it an ideal choice for achieving a beautiful aesthetic. It also offers the benefit of fewer people, which can be helpful for those who might feel camera-shy.

Mornings typically have less wind, creating favorable conditions for open beaches and, if you’re interested, drone photography.

The timing of your session will be based on the package you’ve chosen and the expected sunrise time, which you can easily find with a quick Google search.

Please note that if cloud cover exceeds 70%, we may need to adjust the session timing. I appreciate your flexibility in case such adjustments are necessary.

Typically, we’ll start early in the morning by meeting at a designated car park while it’s still dark, and then proceed to our chosen location to capture the sunrise.

Sunset locations

I will carefully consider your family’s needs, along with factors like weather, tides, access, and parking availability, before recommending the best locations for your session. My goal is to find the perfect spot where you can enjoy the sun setting over the western horizon.

While stunning, locations like Noosa National Park, Little Cove, and First Point can become overcrowded, and parking can be challenging and stressful at times.

For this reason, I prefer using the access points north of the Beach ‘Middle’ Gryone (the middle rock wall along Noosa Main Beach) for our sessions, as they offer more space and fewer people. If conditions are ideal, Noosa Spit and Noosa Dog Beach are also great options. You can reach all of these access points by driving north along Hastings Street, turning into Noosa Woods, and continuing along Claude Batten Drive. Please refer to the provided map to familiarise yourself with these locations.

Sunrise locations

For your sunrise sessions, we’ll be on a spacious beach facing east, allowing you to fully enjoy the stunning sunrise.

My recommended location for sunrise is Castaways Beach, as long as the wind conditions are favourable.

If the wind is too strong, I’ll suggest the northern end of Noosa Main Beach or another location that best suits the prevailing conditions.

Other locations

While I often work on beaches due to their space, unobstructed views, and excellent natural lighting, I’m also happy to photograph at a variety of other locations.

Beaches are ideal for their reflective qualities, which enhance complexion, minimize shadows, and highlight features, resulting in bright and refreshing photos. However, I can also shoot at your home, my studio, lakesides, scenic viewpoints, coastal rock formations, rustic estates, open fields, or pastoral paddocks. I’m open to any location you prefer and will consider accessibility needs.

Note: Private event locations generally don’t have issues arranging sessions. However, shoots at hotels or accommodations usually require authorization. If you can arrange this and provide proof of approval, I’m ready to proceed.

For locations more than a 30 min round trip from Noosa, an additional travel fee will apply.
